Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary: A Celebration of Prayer and Devotion

The Church of the Divine Mercy (CDM), Shah Alam, celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on Saturday, 11 October 2025, with Mass and its annual Rosary Relay Procession within the church grounds.

The celebrant, Rev. Fr. Gregory Chan, parish priest of Our Lady of Lourdes, Klang, reminded the faithful in his homily of the power of prayer and the importance of devotion to Our Blessed Mother.

As a personal testimony, Fr. Gregory shared a moving story. He was recently diagnosed with colon cancer, but after fervent prayer and petitions for Our Lady’s intercession, a second medical consultation revealed a completely different diagnosis — gastrointestinal issues rather than cancer.

Fr. Gregory expressed his deep gratitude, saying he believes the initial diagnosis was accurate and credits Our Blessed Mother’s intercession for his healing.

ā€œShe is always at our side and never fails us,ā€ he shared.

The candlelight procession following the sunset Mass was the result of weeks of meticulous planning. Organised by the Marian Apostolate of CDM, in collaboration with various parish ministries, the procession was led by Rev. Fr. George Harrison and Brother Philip Asirwalam.

Parishioners walked prayerfully behind a beautifully decorated statue of Our Blessed Mother, singing hymns and carrying candles as flower girls scattered petals in her honour.

The celebration concluded with the Consecration of Families to the Blessed Virgin Mary and a solemn Benediction, marking a heartfelt evening of faith and thanksgiving.
