BECs

Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs) are small groups of Catholic families living in the same neighbourhood. They bring the Church closer to daily life by helping parishioners know one another, grow in faith together, and support each other as one community. Every baptised Catholic belongs to a BEC within their neighbourhood. In a BEC, the Church is lived at the grassroots level — in homes, among families, and through everyday relationships. Members gather to pray, reflect on God’s Word, share life’s joys and challenges, and extend care to those around them.

Through these small communities, BECs strengthen parish life by nurturing faith, fostering friendships, and encouraging service. They help us continue Christ’s mission by living with compassion, unity, and mercy in our neighbourhoods. At the Church of the Divine Mercy, BECs help us grow as one family in Christ — praying together, serving together, and living the message of Divine Mercy in our daily lives.
