“REVIVAL, RENEWAL, REDEDICATION” was the theme of the recently concluded Annual Family Retreat of the St. Cecilia Choir group. A total of 45 participants from various age groups gathered in Kuala Kubu Bharu from September 14th to 16th, taking advantage of the Malaysia Day holiday.
The event was facilitated by Rev. Fr. Philip Tay, OCD, from Seremban, who led thought-provoking and insightful sessions focused on the theme, encouraging everyone to reflect on the ministry they serve, both individually and collectively.
The weekend was filled with spiritually and physically enriching activities, including spirit-filled praise and worship sessions, team-building exercises, and enjoyable games. Group breakout discussions were held on each topic, followed by presentations and sharing sessions. Participants were encouraged to share their ideas and views on how to Revive, Renew, and Rededicate themselves, both individually and as a group, in the Music Ministry of the Church.
Sunday began with an in-house Mass celebrated by Fr. Philip, and the day concluded with a family BBQ prepared by all the participants.
A delightful surprise awaited the group on Sunday evening when CDM parish priest, Rev. Fr. George Harrison, joined them for the BBQ and fun night. It was a wholesome family evening, with delicious food and good music in a relaxed Airbnb setting.

The group returned on Monday, fully energized and ready to chart the future of the choir at the upcoming Annual Meeting, scheduled for October.
